Cloaked in a deep, entrancing ruby-red robe, this 2021 Zinfandel greets the senses with fragrant notes of freshly picked strawberries, sun-kissed dried cranberries, and succulent raspberries. The palate is aglow with the radiant essence of ripe berries, intricately interwoven with the warmth of baked almonds and a symphony of baking spices that linger, enticing and bewitching. Story

Named for Count Haraszthy’s grandfather who planted the seed of exploration in his son and grandson, our Antal’s Selection Zinfandel is harvested from the Baldacchi Vineyard. This vineyard touts 100 year-old vines in the Russian River Valley where the days are warm and the nights are cool, the perfect growing conditions for Zinfandel – a varietal The Count helped make prominent in America. This big, bold wine was fermented in open top fermenters with hand punch downs before being aged for 18 months in French oak, 19% new oak.

The Buena Vista Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winery's founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and expand its vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique, small-production wines that honor the winery's pioneering spirit and contribution to California winemaking. The Vinicultural Society explores clonal selections, varietals, and the incredible terroir of California's Sonoma County.
