Story

The Vinicultural Society, formed in 1863 by the winery's founder, Count Agoston Haraszthy, to further improve its winemaking prowess and increase its expansive vineyards, has been restored as a collection of unique, small-production wines that honor the winery's pioneering spirit and contribution to California's winemaking. The Vinicultural Society explores noteworthy, obscure varietals, vineyards and the incredible terroir of Sonoma. Being true to our heritage, Buena Vista Winery presents to you our Count's Selection Clairette Blanche.

Winemaker’s Notes

This unique varietal was once the most widely planted white grape in the south of France and the wine was aged in concrete which lends texture and softening along with a sense of minerality.
