Red Blend / 2019
Benefitting the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund to help those impacted by the 2025 LA County fires.
Dense dark red color with cherry red hues. The aroma is concentrated and complex with layers of dark black fruit, blackberry pie, dark chocolate, and hints of black pepper. This blend has a velvety yet structured mouthfeel, showing Cabernet Sauvignon's firm tannins balanced by the plush fruit of Syrah and the spice of Grenache. A long and persistent finish with notes of tobacco, smoked cedar, and a hint of mission fig, reflecting the unique touch of Mission grape.

Founded in 1857 in Sonoma, Buena Vista Winery is a California Historic Landmark and the birthplace of California wine. The original wine caves have weathered phylloxera, prohibition, earthquakes, and most recently, fire. In October 2017, the Gold Ridge Fire Department was on site to save the historic winery from the Nuns Fire. It is their heroic efforts and unwavering courage and dedication that we honor through this wine, “The Captain”.
