Geza's Selection

Pinot Noir / 2023

This Pinot Noir immediately enchants with seductive aromas of lush blackberry, tart pomegranate, and lively citrus. On the palate, bright acidity elevates the rich, expressive flavors of ripe raspberry and deep plum, gracefully layered with whispers of floral violet, freshly ground black pepper, and subtle forest floor nuances. The tannins are smoothly integrated, lending a refined structure that culminates in a lingering, enchanting finish.

Story

Named for the Count's eldest son, who fought in the Civil War, Geza's Selection Pinot Noir is harvested from two vineyards in the Petaluma Gap that complement each other beautifully. Sloping hills, rocky clay loam soils, and low-vigor vines help keep yields low while the myriad of clones ensure greater complexity in the wines. Our Geza’s Selection Pinot Noir was fermented in small, open-top fermenters with hand punchdowns before being aged for 14 months in 41% new French oak.
